华侨华人聚集在CNN位于旧金山的办公楼前举行抗议示威，要求CNN为卡弗蒂的辱华言论道歉。

　　今天下午2点整，记者再次如约来到海明律师事务所，海明律师向在场的记者出示一份CNN总部发来的公函，然后详细向记者介绍这份公函的情况。海明律师说，2008年5月6日，CNN负责法律与国际事务的副总裁大卫?维格兰特(DavidVigilante)代表CNN以公函的形式向我们律师事务所发来正式道歉信，在这份信中，CNN的高级官员引用卡弗蒂的谈话说，他对于当初攻击中国人民的辱华言论感到后悔(regret)，他认为这使在中国的公民和生活在美国的华人受到侮辱，他也说到对不起(sorry)。海明律师说，CNN的负责人把卡弗蒂的道歉又在这份公函中加以重复，寄给了我们，证明了这是CNN到目前为止的官方立场，是regret和sorry。

　　海明律师说，这是律师事务所目前取得的初步的、阶段性的成果，虽不能说是大获全胜，但相对于前一段时间CNN对中国人民的抗议置之不理、表现出极度傲慢的态度来说，现在CNN终于用正式公函的形式向我们表示道歉。这是世界上全体华人努力抗争的结果。
